Bounty Trail Demo Patch Notes

The Bounty Trail demo (Steam app 4795170) went live on 12 June 2026. Henke pinned “The demo is now available!” and asked for bugs and thoughts. The sample is the first month of the career, English-only at launch. Full-game languages came later. This page is what changed in public, why camp still haunts some hunters, and how those fixes should change the way you play how to play.

12 June 2026 — demo ships

Henke: the demo lets you play the first month. Feedback wanted. Steam listed single-player, game demo, Steam Cloud, full controller support, Xbox controllers, and four accessibility features. Store copy matches the full game: Thorne, $10,000, board, territories, talk to farmers, dead or alive, more XP for alive captures.

Early Steam discussion reports included:

  • Camp and Inventory clickable in town when they should not be (Henke reproduced the town-button issue, not every freeze)
  • Energy hitting zero, then camp options refusing selection (player “hominum”, 14 June)
  • General first-month difficulty feel

If you are using the demo as a walkthrough, those bugs are not secret mechanics. Do not empty Energy on purpose.

15 June 2026 — camp, UI, audio

Henke uploaded a new demo build: tweaks aimed at the camp issues, plus UI and audio improvements. He could not reproduce every freeze. He asked anyone still broken on Camp/Sleeping to open Explorer and go to %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\September Games\BountyTrail. That path is copied onto system requirements because it is the only official save breadcrumb we have.

Play implication: sleep early. The energy rule is a patch-informed habit, not a superstition.

18 June 2026 — difficulty, combat, intro

Second follow-up, 4:31am from Henke:

  • difficulty tweaks
  • improved combat animations a bit
  • fixed issues with intro

This is why combat tells you not to trust a June 12 memory of DRAW odds. Percentages on the choice screen are live. Animations existing at all is why we describe a rifle kneel as a scene, not a fade-to-black. Intro fixes mean a first boot that still hangs should verify files before you assume your PC failed the 250 MB spec.

Languages and the demo

A Chinese-language thread asked how to set Chinese. Henke: demo is English only; full game will include Chinese. Another player mentioned Douyin streamers and fan patches. Official Simplified Chinese is a full-release store row, not a demo toggle. This wiki still skips zh as a site language.

Review snapshot

Public snippets showed the demo at Positive, 80% of 40 reviews. Small sample. Read it as “the month is finishable,” then use capture alive instead of review scores.

Carrying demo habits into September

If you learned the game in June:

  1. Re-read launch notes. Thirty bounties and multiple endings were always the full pitch.
  2. Do not keep a kill-only muscle memory. Alive XP is the advertised skill engine.
  3. Keep the LocalLow path bookmarked. Cloud saves can resurrect a bad camp state.
  4. Controller users should still look for direct-control versus click-to-go.

The demo is a month. The loan is four. Debt tracker is how you stop playing the demo forever inside the full release.
